‘The Horseshoes’ is a documentation of moments lived and spaces that are inherently intertwined with experience and belonging. I have worked collaboratively with my younger brother and his peers, as they navigate their way through their own masculinity. Performance is shown in the duality of personality, and intimacy in moments with others that make us feel like we belong. This is a poignant age that can never be relived, a time that I myself have already lived. When making the work it has caused me to reflect on these previous experiences whilst wat.ching these moments unfold. I am using their perspective to navigate these ideas and preserving memories before they part their ways leaving school.
